Most any dark or poison type would work well. Right off the top of my head I can think of Seviper, Drapion, Houndoom, Gengar, Gliscor (okay, not dark or poison, but seriously), Nidoking, Liepard and Mightyena.
There are plenty of stereotypical villain pokemon, and Malamar is just the latest and greatest with that evil-looking grin. Even Noivern could qualify because it's a big black bat-dragon with pointy teeth.
