Best gen. Everything about it was pretty damn great, save for maybe the linearity.

One thing in particular that stuck out for me was how the Gym Leaders were so much more developed than previous ones. They all had jobs and lives outside the gyms, and all found a way to support and help you. Even the Elite 4 (And especially Alder) got some development.

White was the first pokemon game I owned and didn't play on an emulator.

I did the dreamworld stuff and got a bronzor. For some reason all the mons I ran into loved to poison. Bronzor was so plain looking, I didn't like him at first, but I quickly found out his power. He was my default poison-killer. I kinda miss his Brozor form.

Gen 6's leader's seriously disappointed me since I was no expecting them to be more fleshed out like B/W's were. Only Korrina and Wulfric did anything outside there gyms, the former appearing seemingly every route or so to remind you of Lucario.
Wulfric was nice, but I've been spoilt by B/W's characterisation which were hardly the pinnacle of character writing but for something like Pokemon, it was so refreshing and appreciated

BW1 had the best story of any main series pokemon games obviously bested by PMD, at least explorers of time/darkness/sky and I have reasonably high standards for game story. It was basic to be sure but very very well executed and paced.
