Honestly, I’m mainly just waiting for more Clemont episodes and the Korrina arc. at the point. Never thought I would be this apathetic toward XY’s handling of its characters so far. Serena is largely going unnoticed in terms of having a connection to the main aspect of the show, Pokemon battling and capturing and Ash in XY is not really my cup of tea in-terms of handling and character.

In all seriousness, I do think Dawn's my favorite Pokegirl, character-wise. I found her Coordinator growth a lot more believable than May because she actually wanted to be one before her journey began, so she probably already knew lots about it, whereas almost every time May won it felt really forced.

You know, Ash losing to Trip's Snivy in the first episode wasn't really so bad. Ash was definitely caught off guard by Pikachu's inability to use Electric attacks and was unable to adapt before being defeated by Leaf Tornado. He was controlling the match convincingly up until he tried to use Thunderbolt. I'm sure he would have won pretty easily if Zekrom didn't fuck Pikachu up.

She grows a lot through her Pokemon adventure. So does Ash after he started out with a blank slate. Cilan is meh. Team Rocket becomes really cool and actually helpful in moving the plot lines. It's enjoyable, overall, and I definitely would recommend.
