What are they going to do after the Gen 3 remake? I can't imagine they'd try to make a remake of gen 4. Do they just take the piss and do another remake of Red or Blue?

I'm sure they're in absolutely no rush to make new games. X and Y was the biggest step forward that they've done, and I can see the games having a very long life.

We won't get Gen 4 remakes until Nintendo decides to release the 3DS' successor (m-muh patterns: GBA->FRLG, DS->HGSS, 3DS->ORAS)

The most likely thing to happen is we next get this >>19303883, move on to Gen VII, and probably the third iteration of Gen VII like what happened with Gen V. It all comes down to when Nintendo will release their next piece of hardware

There is already a team working on it.

Team A and Team B - that stuff. Considering that only last minute tweaks are in play right now for ORAS, it's a safe bet they are well-underway in production of X2/Y2/AZ

Call me stupid but they could revisit it when the inevitable attempt to put the "official" timeline together causes eyes to go back to the place where it all started - e.g. where Mewtwo was born.

I'd say, since they just started out on this new console, they're in no rush to even start thinking about the next Gen just yet. If they do, we might have another Gen V scenario where it could just be released on the same system, though.

I really think that XY is more of a spiritual successor to Red and Blue than a remake, given its simplistic story.

This makes Gen 6 a 4-game Gen, something that hasn't happened since Gen 1.

It makes sense that this Gen would be extended that long anyway, because of the massive visual upgrade, jumping Gens as fast as say, Gen 5, would be too quick.

Unless of course the Gen 1 remakes are considered part of Gen 7, but I honestly can't see them starting a Gen on remakes.

Oh, and Gen 4 is not being remade soon, if ever. Mainly because you can still bloody order the games, and play them on your latest 3/2DS no problem. There's no demand.

They just cut out the WIFI, ergo online FRLG doesn't exist just like RSE, it wouldn't surprise me if it was back on the remake list especially with mewtwo being in the most recent game

x and y is absolute crap after you beat the game. Looking back at it, the game is so fucking dull,and the only reason it even felt somewhat nice playing it was 1. it's the first mainline 3d rpg adventure pokemon games and 2. it was released in the fucking cold month of october. Fuck this game, I'm done with it. Ahh I wish nintendo never fucking included 3d, there's no point of it, the game doesn't even use it well. If they didn't just imagine the glorious vita hd graphics on this shit. I can't wait for gen VII.

no that would be disgusting. Nintendo should ditch this cash cow while it's high, just before it gets dry and use their resources for the next gen so they don't end up with a wii situation where all of these casualtards don't move onto the next system. Nintendo HDs needs to be what's used for the next gen.

My compromise: Sevii Islands are available in the postgame. That way you have FRLG phoned into ORAS we asll.
