Not 100% in 1.5k, no.

If the shiny mechanics are roughly consistent with 4th / 5th gen still? Then the odds start getting infinitely close to 100% by about 4 to 5k. If you're on 46k then either the mechanics have changed, you're doing something wrong (like one of the parents is not foreign) or you are genuinely the unluckiest motherfucker alive.

Or keep right on believing that every egg is a direct 1 in X chance of being a shiny, either way no point dragging this out with you further so forget it.

Amp, do you know how probability works? 3/4096 is 3/4096 for every egg. It doesn't change from egg to egg.
I'm not doing anything wrong. The mechanics are the same as ever, I have proper parents. I'm just getting fucked by the odds.

I've gotten other shinies in this game. Is it so hard to believe that one out of the 700 and something pokemon in this game don't want to be shiny for me?

Let me try and spell this out for you.

If you flip a coin, there's a 50% chance for it to land heads, and a 50% chance for it to be tails. There's a chance, however unlikely, that you can get ten heads in a row. But when you flip it for the eleventh time, it still has a 50% chance to be heads and a 50% chance to be tails.

It works the same way for shinies, only it's 3/4086 instead of 1/2. Like the other guy said, this is basic probability, not game mechanics. Valk spent two years and several thousand eggs not hatching a shiny Zorua, and there are tons of similar stories. If you're so sure there's some built in mechanic that increases the chance above 3/4096 every egg you hatch, find a source. I'd love to see it.

Acording to smogon, Calm is the most used, with max HP and Sp. Def. Bold is second, while scarf sets seem to be the third option. The simplest set you can run is calm with the usual IV spread for a special attacker. If you could get a 30 IV in speed, though, that would help a lot on getting switch initiative against other rotoms. Since Rotom-W is such a great lead, you will be having a lot of mirror matches on turn 1. Having 30 IVs in speed means your volt switch comes out last and you get to have initiative.

Ice is a better hidden power choice for rotom, as then it gets ice-electric coverage, which is pretty good. Usually you would run Hydro Pump, Volt Switch, Will-o-Wisp, Thunder wave, though. The HP Ice is usually for a scarf/specs set, with a timid/modest nature.

I don't know what I'm going to do with the stone/trade evolving pokemon. While it's necessary to evolve a Milotic early to actually get useful moves and NOT suffer, it would sure as hell put something like my unevolving Deerling to shame for about 29 levels. It'll be something trying to find that balance.

They don't make it tougher. The Pokémon still listens to you past the level cap provided you're the one who grinded it to that level (ie: you leveled a Charizard to lvl 100 before the first gym as opposed to getting a lvl 100 Charizard traded to you).

Hopefully that won't be too much of an issue if I'm not abusing the lucky egg and exp.share too much. I remember when I got this game, my party of 5 was all around level 50 while the 5th gym leader had about 3 level 30's or something weak like that. I had to switch out my entire party to keep things interesting at that point.

Anyone who comes here even occasionally is probably interested in the legality of what you're trading.
If it's not legit, we'll just go hack it ourselves.
The 12 year olds probably don't even realize they could hack the shit themselves.

As for legality, don't trust anything you get through GTS unless you can prove otherwise (ex. Pokecheck for gen 5), or Pentagon mons from gen 6 (at least for now, the code will probably be cracked eventually.)

And for the love of god, please pay attention to spelling. People will take you much more seriously and maybe even want to trade you.

If they have changed how the shiny obtaining system works in 6th gen, then you are perfectly correct and the odds are 3/4096.
If it remains fundamentally the same and you reset / turn your game back on and off after getting each and every egg, you are perfectly correct and the odds are 3/4096.

I have been trying to say / tell you one thing only; That if the fundamental mechanics of how Pokemon's wild encounter / breeding / shiny system remains the same and you never turn your game off then your relative "odds" of hatching a shiny go up as a result, to the point that assuming he's smart enough to never turn off his game or go back to the game menu (I have no idea if temporarily going to the home menu would also reset it, that feature didn't exist at the time) then hatching your shiny is "inevitable", rather than a simple 3/4096.

I'm not saying there is no luck involved and I'm not basing this on gambler's fallacy or anything like that with an argument along the lines of "if you've flipped 10 heads in a row, the 11th must be tails" or anything like that. I'm saying that thanks entirely to how the game is programmed when you're going to get your shiny, it is predetermined the moment you continue your current save file, based on various factors like how long you spent on the menu, your delay and the current time. If the game determines that egg #366 is going to be shiny for you and you collect 365 eggs from the daycare, the very next egg you breed is going to be shiny for you even if you change which Pokemon are in the daycare, assuming you don't reset your game first.

That's all I'm saying. As stated repeatedly I cannot tell you if the way the game is programmed on a fundamental level is exactly the same now for 6th gen as it was in earlier gens but until we can know one way or the other, you should not turn your game off while breeding for a shiny.

I'm simply quoting how the pRNG method of obtaining shones and perfect Pokemon worked. If you don't know your values or anything similar then the breeding perfect Pokemon part isn't going to help you, however not knowing when the next shiny is going to come along isn't going to stop that shiny from coming in the same place regardless, as long as you don't reset your game or anything.
