And before anyone says so is Hypnosis, Dark types are suspectable to other forms of sleep via Spore, Grasswhistle, etc, while Poison can only be given through Poison type moves. Of course you cant burn a fire type because common sense

Steel and Poison types are immune to the Poisoned/Badly Poisoned ailment, not status moves. Just like fires are immune to the Burned ailment. Ghosts/Normals/Darks aren't immune to any status ailments as a type, so Confuse Ray/Hypnosis etc hits them

Steel can't be poisoned because they're made of fucking steel. You can still confuse and put a regular animal to sleep. You can't poison a robot.

Yet Thunder Wave doesn't affect Ground types and Ground types can still be affected by Body Slam or Glare paralysis.

There is no rule, Game Freak just does it on a move to move basis

Twineedle could poison Steel-types in Gen II, but this was an error and it was fixed in Gen III, because Steel-types are not immune to Poison-type status moves, they're immune to the poison status ailment. Gastro Acid can hit Steel-types even though it's a Poison-type move. I don't understand why people ITT have so much trouble realizing this.

Confusion is a secondary status, like Taunt or Infatuation. Anyone can be affected by these unless they have an immunity ability. There is no symbol for secondary status.

Toxic can't affect Steel types because Poisoning is a primary status, and Steel has been defined as immune to the affects of all Poison moves and Poisoning. Primary status has symbols and can linger on outside of battle.

Ghost is only immune to Normal attacks, not status moves. And vica versa.

they aren't immune to paralysis at all

Thunder Wave isn't the end-all of paralysis, it's just a highly reliable way of causing paralysis. You can still paralyze a Ground type via other moves.

Ground types are immune to Electric moves that cause harm in some way.

Can't you guys come to this conclusion on your own?
