I have a breeding question; please forgive my idiocy.

I bred a sunkern (Male) and it knows giga drain
I bred a lotad (Female) and tried breeding it with the sunkern to get a lotad with giga drain
But from the eggs I've hatched, none of the lotads know giga drain. Help?
