It's very powerful indeed, but a) it's a one-trick Pony - you know exactly what it's gonna do the second you see it, b) it's too much of a glass cannon and c) many of the Pokemon that can take it on/check it/kill it are extremely common - Rotom-W, Talonflame and so on. That, and 4x weakness to Stealth Rock doesn't do it any favours either.

Pebbles, Smogonbirds (all three of them), Smogon Washer, only has one moveset. It's not really that hard to deal with in practice.

It's not JUST Talonflame that checks Mega Pinsir; it's a whole lot of things. Talonflame and Rotom-W just happen to be two very good pokemon that also deal with it easily.

skarm hard counters m-pinsir, smogonbird can revenge it if rocks aren't up or if it doesn't have feint. Pinsir's not quite as scary as it once was, and there's a lot of things you can run to stop it.
