Masters tournament was supposed to start at 9am. Didn't start until 11. Turns out that they somehow deleted the database with everyone's names on and had to manually recreate it.

Except...they didn't tell anyone competing, meaning everyone was hanging around with no idea what was going on. Since everyone was locked into the tournament nobody could battle/trade to pass the time either. There was an hour gap between each round. Food places closed about four hours before the end. The top 16 battles didn't start until about 10pm.

Loads of people dropped out because they had to catch trains home. I drove there, but even I left without watching the finals because it was overrunning so badly.

The organisers got mauled with bad feedback and complaints afterwards. It was a fucking shambles.

Sort of. There are a lot of viable Pokémon and team archetypes, especially as team synergy is a bigger thing than in singles, so you can get away with some gimmicks if all your gimmicks compliment each other. Those two are still sitting at around 30% overall usage, though, which is about as centralised as OU is.
