As >>19329441 mentioned, you won't have the chance to use Foul Play very often if you actually play against competent players.

It's good for mega milf but Knock-Off simply is the better option for pretty much every other occasion.

Two hits from almost anything reasonable should be good enough after the shell smash. Priority fucks this strat hard. A simple sucker punch or quick attack and you've wasted their time and probably frustrated them.
Don't get into the trap of just trying to burn it. They'll smash a second time and not give a fuck

The target being burned does not affect the damage output of your foul play.

It goes like this:

Your STAB + their actual attack stat + their attack stat boosts/drops + your status

So if sableye gets burned, its foul play damage decreases in half, but if the opponent gets burned, it does normal damage.

The fun thing is when they try and SD to counteract burn's effect, which just doubles your foul play damage.

Use a Poison Heal Gliscor and a Prankster Sableye against them.

For whatever reason, they're never able to counter them properly.

Knock Off on Gliscor seems to be a better choice than urfquake in 3v3 - Rocky Helmets, Eviolites and generally items the loss of which is highly unwanted, are everywhere. Because special snowflake builds/sets seem like a must on every team in this format, Gliscor's Protect/Sub can also help do some scouting - taking away their element of surprise gives you a massive advantage. AV Conkeldurr is also insane - burns/toxics/thunder waves are everywhere to give you guts boost, and all of a sudden you're bulky as fuck, have boosted priority, boosted healing move, Knock off and a coverage move of choice. If played well, it can completely rip apart teams.
