You're wrong about BW. The whole point of that was to show that Unova was far away from previous regions and had it's own entire ecosystem. And I wouldn't call >150 pokemon "a lack of options"

To be fair, during Gen. 4, a lot people complained about Game Freak "running out of ideas" since so many evolved forms of old Pokemon were introduced. That could possibly be one reason why BW1 only allowed use of Unova Pokemon.

It's because BW was meant to be a restart of the series and follow Kanto's roots.

As in, about 150 completely new Pokémon with many of which actually resemble some gen I Pokémon.

I dunno, I liked that BW only had Unovan Pokemon available. It really made it feel like a new adventure for me.

It was also the only gen where my team constantly changed and adapted, in the other games I'd find a few things that'd work and stick with them but in BW at least half my team was always liable to be replaced if something caught my eye and was good at what it did.

Well you play your old games, finish the game or trade what you want.
The game is designed to use most of the new pokemon (or pokemon from the remake) just with a little new one here and there.
Having so many pokemons, its hard not to exclude the ones you like having just 1/5 of them at the beggining.

Its called disposable income for a reason, unless you talk about your alloance.
B2W2 are just a different game man, they had to give you something better for a shitty sequel for a system that had end its life and even with the 3ds having 1 year on the market.
Aka, it was a cashgrab.

Remember in FR/LG how you couldn't evolve Pokemon like Golbat or Chansey for some flimsy reason until you got the National Dex?

Or in G/S/C, Pokemon like Qwilfish and Snubbull were near-impossible to find unless it was a blue moon and they swarmed, and in HG/SS they decided to make those post-E4 too, even though a third of the swarm Pokemon were in the Johto Dex.

B/W's restrictions didn't bother me as much as B2/W2's, where they decided to restrict a whole chunk of the Unova Dex until after the E4. You could still get the missing ones from the Dream World, except, surprise! They shut that down less than a year after B2/W2's worldwide release.

I wish Gamefreak would stop doing this.

we already had a fucktons of Pokemon games for DS (not including various spin-offs like Ranger PMD etc.)

They should have waited a little bit and concentrate on developing X/Y instead of rushing it because they needed to sold 3DS
