And if you like Pokemon becuase of stats you have shit taste. Ledian is one of the worst fully evolved Pokemon, doesn't stop it from looking badass. Just one example out of many.

If it's either, the Pokemon's design starts to grow on you more because it's good. For example I used to like the female Meowstic more, but after using the male a lot in battles I started to like the two at least equally if not the male a bit more.

Liking a Pokemon's stats just because of the design just doesn't make sense. Using the Pokemon regardless of its stats though because you like the design, I do that too.

I have three "filters" with my favorite Pokemon. Appearance is the first filter. Only going to like a Pokemon if its appearance looks nice to me.

Base stats/Movepool is the second filter. Things like Dunsparce and Girafarig which pass the first filter don't get pass this one, and I generally don't really like these Pokemon as much as my other favs.

Battle performance is the third filter. Pokemon with decent movepools/stats on paper but are hard to use in battle successfully like Carbink do not get past this one, though just being able to put up a fight gets them past this filter. Overall a lot of my favorite Pokemon are the ones that get past the second and third filter.
