In the context of the sudden announcement of the Hoenn remakes, do you think GF will opt to remake these two or make a new game for the WiiU in the same way?

the appeal of the stadium and coloseeum was that you could play pokemon in 3D, but now that we have that on the main handheld games, I doubt we'll ever get proper console games ever again

Though you do raise a valid point. It could come out for the handhelds, but the WiiU has so much more power. I don't see why they wouldn't make at least one console pokemon game.

Remaking? I find that incredibly doubtful, especially because nintendo rarely does remakes, and these two games were far from cornerstone games that innovated enough and had enough popularity to warrant a remake(such as zelda OoT, Mario 64, Windwaker).

However, I loved these two games and I think seeing a new console pokemon game is a lot more likely, yet still doubtful

I would fucking love to go back to Orre. Colo. are damn good games, despite the constant double battling. I'm positive they won't remake them, but I'm not sure we'll ever get another console game. Genius Sonority still makes Pokemon games, so maybe.

The least they could do is put Colo. and XD on the 3DS eShop. The 3DS is more powerful than the Gamecube, it could handle them.

I'd rather a pokemon snap remake. I wouldn't mind another pokemon channel/hey you, pikachu kind of game either. There is so much potential there but they barely did anything with the concept

Seeing as they weren't by Gamefreak, I don't see it ever happening.

But I would really enjoy playing through both games with the physical/special split, and Pokemon with actual level up learnsets. I never realized how stingy gen 3 was in terms of level-up moves until I played Colosseum again.

No, the portable version have a design, a "feel" and cartoony artstyle, see how wailord is as small as a Vileplume? Its the presentation.
Hovewer, Stadium and colosseum series have a different presentation, the animations are more specific, the arenas are way bigger and the size is actual scale of the pokemon. These aim for a more "realistic" and massive design than those of portables.
I just want Pokken to be a colosseum/stadium one and not a fighting one like everyone rumors.

So what's with the giant boner everyone has for Orre again? I got Paper Mario 2 and XD from a thrift store the other day, Mario held up, but XD played slow and ass, even compared to when replaying RSE.
Don't get me wrong, I like the games and their feel, but I'm not understanding the sudden nostalgiagasm.

Personally it's mostly nostalgia. Also, Orre has some of the more interesting characters/plot in the series.

Game plays really slow, especially since all battles are double battles. It's hard for me to go back and play it.

I still manage to enjoy Orre even through how slow it is. I just enjoy the massive change of atmosphere from the friendliness of the main games to this grim and suspicious atmosphere in Orre (Colosseum mostly.).

The music was amazing, too.

Double battles are great. That's one thing I loved about these games.

GCN or not, we probably won't ever see a Pokémon RPG game on VC. They lose a lot when you take away its ability to link with other games.

Giving a game like Stadium, Stadium 2, Colosseum, or XD trade compatibility with Gen6 is far more of a change than any VC game will ever get.

Even giving Pokémon Snap the ability to save photos was a giant change by VC standards.
