I mean pokemon with levitate never get another ability. but they gave bronzong heatproof. why only bronzong? did GF figure it was a mistake?

It was Bronzong's gimmick, really, being able to lose one of its weaknesses and to force your opponent to guess which one it lost in order to hit it super-effectively even though pretty much everyone ran Levitate and Gen 6 gave it two more weaknesses.

Bronzong was probably chosen as its typing (previously) gave it only two weaknesses, both of those weaknesses could be covered by abilities (only one of which had to be made alongside it) and both abilities made sense thematically.

Also, Duskull has Levitate and Frisk as its HA, though that may just be to give both Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir HAs.

Dragon is probably the worst offensive type right now, considering that it's only SE on itself. Sheer Force would be good as a HA.
