It's somewhat light on content, has an almost nonexistent post-game (league rematches have been removed for some baffling reason) is SUPER easy and excluding megas the number of new Pokemon is tiny.
I still really enjoyed it and it has some great features; real work has gone into the Pokemon's models, battle and amie animations, and seeing them battle is a treat. The online features are also fantastic. However, both of those points are moot because they'll certainly be in ORAS. So even though I enjoyed X/Y, I think it might be better to skip it honestly.
