Backlogfag reporting in. Now I finally know where those evil Ash images come from. What the fuck was the point of this episode? Ash didn't actually battle so he wasn't the one who lost, and you have this ancient evil that seems like it'd be part of some kind of story arc but it appears and goes away in one episode, unless there's supposed to be some kind of backstory to this I don't know about?

It was pretty over the top evil in general, what with the black fog, the evil voice and the campy laughter/quotes, but you put it in the Ashnimu universe it becomes an even bigger contrast.
