If I'm serious I plan it out, I only wing it if I have a bunch of miscellaneous shit and want to definitely use something for sure but even then if want a higher success rate doing that you should plan it out.

I pretty much plan teams when I do replays of games, almost always when I do Challenges.

In-game I just wing it. I take whatever seems the most fun to play with.

Competitively I have to plan. I can't just go, slap six random mons, and expect to win.
