Yes, but fairy is easily checked by poison and steel. Also, dragon was checked by itself & ice, not to mention most dragons were dual typed and were checked easier, adding in rock weaknesses, 4x ice weaknesses, and more.

Cosmic would be better than Sound IMO. It has a fuckload of mons and moves that you can simply change and it wouldn't be much of a big deal. Staryu/Starmie, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy/Claydol, Elgyem/Beheeyem, Clefairy/Clefable, Cresselia, Deoxys and the Tao Trio would all fit perfectly, and you can probably add more.

More mons for cosmic, but more moves for sound. GF could easily add more for each. Why not just do both though?

There needs to be a type that normal would be supper effective against. I think that would be neat.

It is better as an aspect of an attack like it is now. With subs getting BTFO by sound it is a really neat mechanic that would get watered down by making only one type.

agree with this

sound moves being a "flag" rather than its own type makes it more special

like how there's "pulse" moves, "ball" moves, contact moves, etc. It makes things more interesting than just type matchups

Double agreed. You can take pretty much anything and make it into a convincing-sounding type but sound in particular already exists in some form in-game already and it fills its niche well. Making it into an actual type would just limit potential creativity when it comes to making sound-based moves in regards to flavor and type match ups.
