>>19390438I just wondered why. I don't mind so much.
>>19390478I have a house in Tour, and I go skiing in Morzine once in a while. I like the French, not Parisians so much, but many of the people in Normandy, or towards the centre have been perfectly nice to me. I haven't been down south too much, but to the East and the German border my travels have always lead me to polite French people. I speak French though, so maybe they prefer me to people who come and speak English to them. I don't know.
I like cultural conservatism, there is a great care to preserve what France is at its heart.
>>19390507I think a lot of Spanish literature requires Spanish language. I have never been any good at Spanish, but I do love the two Saaverda novels I've read.
I don't know man, I think we should learn more languages and be able to maintain individual cultures and identities. It creates a diversity in art and the media, and also means that we don't risk merging into a superstate without any type of Economic competition or comparative advantage. A language is more than a communication tool for me.
