Let's go through the types and their standard moves.
Ghost still lacks a powerful physical move. Shadow Ball for special is alright, but only as strong as a Scald for Water-types who have Surf and Hydro Pump to choose from. Special Dark is in the same boat with Dark Pulse, but physical Knock Off, Crunch and Sucker Punch are good.
Ground has Earthquake which is all it needs for physical. Earth Power is nice but its distribution is nowhere as good as Earthquake's.
Rock has decent moves, but terrible accuracy. Power Gem is great, but has terrible distribution due to the flavor.
Flying has good physical moves but due to the flavor things like Salamence, Gyarados and Aerodactyl miss out on Brave Bird and Drill Peck. Special suffers from poor distribution and power (Air Slash) and accuracy (Hurricane).
Electric has good special moves, but Wild Charge is the best they can afford with Pikachu hogging their version of Flare Blitz. Ice has good specials, but somewhat limited in their physical side as well.
Meanwhile Fighting and Normal have good physical moves, but poorly distributed special moves (Aura Sphere, Boomburst, Tri Attack) or terrible accuracy (Focus Miss).
For the other types, they generally have strong moves for both physical/special and decent distribution. Steel, Psychic, Bug and Poison have decent-powered moves for special and physical, but suffer from the coverage. Meanwhile Water, Grass, Fire, Dragon and Fairy have good offensive moves as well along with decent coverage.
