Since my work now requires me to travel to a downtown office I've been taking the train, and as such I thought I would give some Pokemon games a try by emulating them on my phone. Since I sort of missed out on the Pokemon fad when I was a kid.
I'm playing Ruby right now, and after asking a friend about some of the basics he did three things:
- Berate me for not playing Emerald
- Told me to start with Mudkip
- And advised that I should catch a Mawile since it's an early Steel type, and is good for catching other pokemon (?)
Being a complete newb to the series I listened to him. And I'm now at a point where I'm encountering Mawiles fairly often (some cave). The problem is that I can't seem to catch this damn pokemon like I've done with all the others.
I tried paralyzing it, and then wearing its HP down to <5%. And then chucking 10 Pokeballs and eventually 5 Greatballs at it. And it escaped each one. Am I missing something here? Do I need some specialized Pokeball to catch this little fuck? Pls help google yields little since it mostly gives search results for the recent Pokemon games.
