Making it unique, however... maybe switching positions with the back Pokemon now, too?
Or, making it stand out completely... support/defense Pokes working together with the offensive Pokes at the same time? Like for the defense... shielding when in front, and supporting when behind? Being able to "quick save" a teammate at the cost of an automatic crit? I'm just spouting ideas, at this point.
