Been having a lot of fun in the Battle Subway in White (pic related). Is there a battle point style game in the new games? Is it fun?

Yeah, the Battle Maison. It's like a house/mansion area in the last city. It's alright, except for the amount of times the RNG will screw you over and end your streak.

Considering it's a lot easier to breed pokemon and egg moves are permanent I would call that fair game.

Oh. What about multiplayer battles? Never really tried that in White. Is it as dysfunctional as the GTS (which is pretty much the only online feature I've used so far)?

Better than black and white (2). As anybody who disconnect on battle spot is counted as them losing. Also you can access the online feature anywhere from the game so it makes it better by miles. Pokemon X/Y improved the online features.

Are there any features that require Nintendo servers to still be active? I got my White version pretty late, and it was kind of annoying to find out that Hidden Abilities are pretty much impossible to get for me now since the Dreamworld web thing is no longer maintained...

Dude, only the Wii/DS servers got shut down. You didn't really think Nitendo shut down all internet features of their CURRENT gen consoles did you?

A lot of the hidden abilities can be obtained through X/Y's friend safaris and hordes.
