Why is missingno commonly depicted as a bird?

Would you like it if gamefreak made an actual Pokemon out of it the way mortal combat makes real characters from glitches and rumors?

Isn't Giratina supposed to be based on Missingno?
Missingno has a ghost form, Gira is a ghost
Missingno has a skeleton form, Gira is kinda skeleton-like
Both have powers that are supposed to be impossible to comprehend
Gira is fought in a "distortion world" which looks really glitchy
Missingno is a "bird", Origin Forme Gira has levitate
I could be wrong, but it looks like Giratina was partially inspired by Missingno
