Random question that probably going to pisd people off for starting a thread about it. Does anyone know what level evee will evolve into umbreon just through leveling? I got mine at level 5. I know riolu would usually evolve at 20 but I can't find anything on umbreon

Honestly it was a good question and Im not sure why people are getting so angry about it. Looking at bulbapedia, given you dont have any negative factors, just grinding would be 25-30 ish levels from egg I think. Add in a bit of walking and yeah its probably about 20.

I looked again and I did the math a bit wrong. It would be more toward 35 levels since the rate goes down to 2 per lv after you hit the 200 happiness mark.

Yeah just cram it full of the berries that increase happiness but reduce stats. It takes like 15 -20 and once your maxed it will say "it wont have any effect" then you know you are golden. Takes about 2 minutes and is why i always try to keep a berry crop growing.

There, was that so hard? I honestly don't understand why people get so butthurt over pokemon threads on a pokemon board. It was a legitimate question that bulbapedia or serebii wouldnt cover.

It depends on the game you're playing, as Friendship works differently in many different games.

Check out http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Friendship for the information.

You need 220 friendship to evolve. Assuming that you have a Level 5 Eevee in Gen 4...

>Start at 70 friendship
>6 levels at +5 brings you to 100 friendship
>33 levels at +3 friendship brings you to 199 friendship
>11 levels at +2 friendship to 221 friendship.

Therefore, with *only* levelling up, you would need to get Eevee to Level 55 to evolve it with friendship.

However, walking, the Soothe Bell, massages/haircuts and vitamins will all significantly reduce this.

It happened with my Togetic at about level 20 or 30, I only used a few berries/potions but nothing else.

You could just get a Kelpsy Berry & grow tonnes of it then mass-feed them to Eevee until "It won't have any effect." then just level it up one level.
