Hi /vp/

I'm about to register for my first competition (think fast) after lurking for the April and May friendlies.

I have decided to drop Noivern from my team because of crappy defences and made the OU choice of Garchomp.

It will be a Jolly RS+RH set, but I need a fire move because I have nothing to take care of Ferrothorn or Skarm.

Will FireFang or Flamethrower be a better option? Or even risk FireBlast's accuracy.

Any help would be appreciated. (Even open to other pokes than Garchomp)

I run chomp with a choice scarf with fire fang none of the fire moves are great to be honest

I don't need it so I've never used it but, from what I've heard, Fire Blast has the higher chance of actually killing Ferrothorn while Fire Fang only wears you down.

Also, whats the deal with Megas in the VGC, are you allowed to register 2 but take one into battle, or take both into battle but only MEvolve one?

And why do you say none of them are any good?

fire fang doesnt really have a lot of power and will miss occasionally and give your iron barbs and most likely helmet damage from ferrothorn. flamethrower is running a bit low on damage off of garchomps special attack and well fire miss can cost you a game.

I was thinking of trying a bulky sd mega scizor how have you found him in 3v3?

I can't speak for others, but I have cursed a lot during May event with all the miss from even 90% accuracy moves. I suppose I got the short end of the luck.

If you insist on having steel coverage on your Garchomp, run Fire Fang.

I don't know if I'd bother, honestly. Fire Fang will cover Ferrothorn (Fire Blast doesn't OHKO Ferrothorn; you may as well run Fire Fang), but Skarmory will wall you anyway.

I have him adamant 252hp / 252atk / 4spD. Banded Technician BulletPunch will revengekill anything that doesn't resist steel, and a lot of things that do too!
