The only problem I see is that you can only accumulate so many points and the costs for certain things like Mega Evolving just don't seem economical.

OP here, exactly. I think if done right, you should accumulate about 3 pts every gym (not including the default point). Mega evolution is more of a last-resort tactic (would I rather spend a point to save my ass, or spend 3 for the loss?)

balance is key, so you'd have to keep a balance between evolving all of your mons and having a full team. Some NFE team members are to be expected, to increase the difficulty

think of this as a blueprint, then, champ. what would you change? as of now, if no one in your team faints + you trade, you can get up to 3 points per badge. that's enough to catch something and evolve something once.

understand that the goal isn't to make the hardest challenge of them all, its to provide a decent challenge while encouraging community play. if you don't think it's challenging enough, then contribute some changes. if this is a community playthough it may as well be built by it, no?

I'm hoping people would see that and not make it a starter run.
Maybe give the option of trading away starter privileges for a few BP or have a mystery egg option where you get a shitmon that gets the starter privileges.

Slightly surprised to see this thread going. But this is a good point.

As of now, if people are interested in contributing to make this a collaborative project, I think I will edit the images to remove starter privileges. It does seem to make things potentially too easy. If anyone else wants to add something constructive, by all means.
