>>19446887Yeah, sets get cycled out every couple of years, and there's generally some kind of new gimmick coming out either with each gen or in the middle of the gens, like how Gen 1 eventually had Dark Pokemon and X's Pokemon cards.
Whole strategies are in flux when they figure out if things like status conditions are too overpowered or not, and some old cards get reprinted which gives us all headaches because you can technically use the old cards, but you have to use them with the new card ruling.
So everyone with an old deck runs 4 Bills for draw power and is thrilled when we tell them it now lets them draw 3 instead of 2, but get mad that it's now a supporter they can only play one of in a turn.
The main thing that rubs me is the attitude that the older cards are better because "everyone had them" and yet the person thinks they're unique for still holding onto them after the fad passed. It's the difference between being a fan and being a 90's kid that thinks that hording their bullshit for all these years is going to get them money or cool points with everyone.
