Once I did a trade of a garbage Karrablast for a Shelmet because I needed it for the dex. I was absolutely horrified when I realized that the Shelmet he'd sent had been penta, while my Karrablast had just been some random shit I caught.

I guess I'm not really cut out for /vp/ if this shit flies here...

I want to sympathize but... seriously, there's no way to guarantee that. If someone's feeling generous they can drop a penta or shiny or something, but unless GF adds some filters to the GTS then it's luck of the draw. Plus the fact that good trades go so fast on there, even if someone feels it's wrong they're probably going to take it regardless before someone else snipes it. You shouldn't expect someone to give you a good Pokemon when there's no way to guarantee what you're getting.

I literally traded Stantlers for most of the legendaries. I bred them and sent them out. I have no idea why people were trading regis, Groudon, Shiny Ho-Oh, Dogs, Deers, ect. for them.

Before we had the bank i remember i only needed a Giratina to complete the Dex, so i offered a 4 IVs Adamant Shiny Garchomp with Iron Head and Outrage for egg moves in exchange of any Giratina, got one 5 IVs Timid Giratina with really shitty EVs, i still have it.

The garchomp was legit, it was just a breeding reject that lacked the Sp. attack and defense IVs.

For those looking to get mons without jewing, breed Misdreavus. Doesn't have to be a good Misdreavus either, just any kind. I used my breeding leftovers that were all 5IVs with eggmoves.

Stick 'em up on the GTS asking for one of the lake pixies. Wait an hour or so, and you should get one. From there, trade it up to whatever you see fit.

I've gotten boxes of legendaries from doing this, no cheating involved. Helped me finish my dex.

I was testing to see if GTS filters certain words or phrases, so that the person can only give a related pokemon. I put up my stupid shiny Woobat asking for a shiny Zorua, with "shiny please" in the description. But instead got some shitty Zorua.

Also, my friend loves to lie on the GTS, it pisses me off.

With an action replay dsi (not power saves) you can generate codes in pokegen and write them to your ar. It's faster than the fakegts.

I've never used it and never had a problem. Just double check for no illegal moves, egg move combos, ev caps at 510, your id and secret id match (ar code can find this), and your pid match. It gets through bank fine and if not it's quick to retry.
