Yes it is, OP is implying that Carnivine should be immune to Bug-types because it eats them.

Lion tamers on the other hand are not immune to lions despite being able to tame them.

Lion tamers aren't ever really a fatal threat to lions. Carnivines make bug killing their thing. That is a bad comparison.

Lion tamers are just humans who have taken up a dangerous hobby to show off. The whole point of the show is how spectacularly dangerous it is for the lion tamer.

Flytraps on the other hand are genetically designed to destroy bugs. They didn't start taking up bug eating because they're daredevil plants. It's what they've been born to do for millions and millions of years.
