megazard y is awesome, mainly for its ridiculously strong sun-powered heat waves and good coverage.
ttar cockblocks megazard y with sandstorm and also has nice spread moves in rock slide and earthquake.
spread moves are very important to prepare for; earthquake and rock slide weaknesses are typically considered bad scoobies, particularly if you're weak to both, though it's hard not to be weak to /some/ kind of spread move.
doubles basically forces you to think on the fly; you'll need a solid strategy that isn't easily interrupted, but you need to prepare for how to deal with the changing tide if something just doesn't go your way or the opponent's prepared for what you've got.
