>>19464144Because Dark had all of two weaknesses, it only felt like it had a lot because one of them was arguably the best offensive type in the game, which leads to why Fighting was also included in Fairy weaknesses because while Fighting has a lot of stuff that resists it, they are either uncommonly seen or they generally have really bad defenses anyway (Bug/Poison/Psychic/Poison).
Bug getting resisted by Fairy was the real wtf because Bug was a pretty bad type already. As if muh priority bird wasn't enough of a killer this gen.
Fairy being weak to Steel and Poison you can understand the thought process behind because those are two types which were pretty uncommon offensively. The problem is that even with Fairies being weak to them they're still not going to be terribly popular offensive types because you'll be bringing one of those almost purely to hit Fairies. The other stuff weak to steel has like a billion other weaknesses and the same could be said of grass, the only thing poison hit. They need to add another useful thing for those two types to hit.
