Possibly not actually. XY are very pretty games, but they're severely lacking in content. I've not touched them in months. 3DS is a great console, but if you could only afford one game maybe you should have gone for something else. Sorry.

Yes, the games are fun. There's no postgame but breeding is easier so getting into competitive is a lot easier and more convenient. Enjoy your new console.

Choose some pokemon you like. Look up good competitive sets and spreads for them. Breed with a 6 IV ditto. EV train using power items. Putting a team together doesn't take that long really.

Dude don't care about him. Sure, the XY metagame isn't perfect but it isn't as bad as he makes it seem. Especially because GF is hosting tons of tournaments and ranked battle special rules every single month, each with their own rules.

and secondly, MegaMom is not as good in doubles as she is in singles. Sure, she can still dent a hole in the opponent's team but not as hard as in singles. Keep in mind she cannot just go, use PuP, and expect to survive two attacks from your opponent, or maybe your opponent has prepared a WoW to kill your firepower.

Not really. Kalos is pretty but boring, especially after you finish the game, and the genwun pandering is ridiculous. Hordes and easy breeding are a plus, though.

I got MK7 so I don't regret getting the 3ds, but X/Y are meh tier.

I've even OHKO a Mega-Mom with a Drought-Powered Heliolisk and Thunderbolt. It does surprisingly well, even if it isn't the most sturdy of critters.

I never did get the hang of double battles so I always just did singles.
