just look at when each of the remakes came out
Gen I came out in 1996 (japan) and 1998 (US) and they remade them in 2004
Gen II came out 2000 and they remade them 2010
Gen III came out 2002 and they are remaking them this year (2014)
so:
Gen I: 6-8 years
Gen II: 10 years
Gen III: 12 years
using this data, we can extrapolate that Gen IV remakes will come out about 14 years after their North American release, which was 2007, so we should expect them in 2021.
but they will happen.
