>>19490343>>19490380Item clause is dumb in singles because it just puts an unnecessary strain on team building for stall and balanced, who already sort of struggle.
Good items available to offensive teams:
-Choice Specs, Scarf, Band
-Life Orb
-Arceus Plates
-Expert Belt
-Focus Sash, Red Card (suicide lead)
-Mega Stones
-Assault Vest
-Air Balloon
If you're breaking item clause, it's not a huge issue to switch a Life Orb for an Expert Belt/Arceus Plate. There's many items that offensive teams can use.
Good items available to defensive teams:
-Leftovers
-Rocky Helm
-Assault Vest (extremely poor item for most walls but it's useful on things with Regenerator)
-Eviolite (only two good pokemon can actually use this)
-Mega Stones (only three megas are any good on stall)
And that's about it. There's Sitrus Berry Trevenant and Toxic Orb Gliscor but neither of those mons are really any good.
Like if you want to use Quagsire, it literally has only one item you should ever consider running on it, and that's lefties. So if you want to pair it with, say, Sylveon, who again can really only use lefties, you need to decide which one needs to sacrifice bulk so you don't break item clause.
>but weakness berriesThese are one time use and are only good if the pokemon you're using it on can KO back. Wacan Berry Manaphy is good; Roseli berry Mandibuzz is not. They're really more of an offensive item.
>but Air BalloonGoes away if you're hit by anything.
