Probably been asked a dozen times here but I have to really wonder. What is the most rare Pokemon, and why rare i mean like sometime so uncommon like an event Pokemon from gen 3. Anyone know the specific most rare Pokemon?

Those pokemon distibuted by gamefreak employees over the GTS would probably be up there since there was only 30 of each.

Arceus, since there was only one US event for it. Guess technically it would be the Azura Flute Arceus. Any unobtainable shiny version would also be the most rare, rare meaning impossible under legit means.

Wish Chansey is pretty damn rare. There was only one event in gen3 and everyone who had one evolved them because Eviolite didn't exist back then.

Pomeg glitch allows reprogramming of Emerald

Once somebody figures out how to use it to get the ticket, the shiny mew should be a fair bit less rare

Glameow, which has only been catchable in Pearl since it's introduction. Technically, you could catch it during a Funfest Event in White2, but since DS Wi-Fi is dead, it isn't accessible anymore.

This guy knows what he's talking about. That is basically nearly impossible to obtain.

Fuck your events. All you needed to do to get one was connect to the Internet or drive to your local gaming store. A shiny, fished or surfed feebas from RSE is nearly statistically impossible to find, yet it is physically possible.

There are more event pokemon than caught feebas anyways.

Not exactly. You have to be able to get one that likes dry pokeblocks too for them to be of any use. Shiny, legit, caught milotics are basically non-existent.

Yeah, but it was recent. Everyone who got it still knows where the game and their Pokémon are. Wish Chansey was one month back in '04 and 90% of the people with one evolved it. And because it was an event egg, the ones with good IVs are probably even rarer

People just need to figure out what combination of button presses would trip all the flags

I mean hell, this glitch seems almost as good as the yellow glitch that let you reprogram Yellow

Plus since it's the pomeg glitch, this may be possible in DPPt as well to get Manaphy Eggs, Arceus, etc.

Shiny Latios/Latias with perfect IV's across the board caught in a Pokéball/Dive Ball/whatever in the wild as a roaming Pokémon in RSE on Mirage Island.

Latios can't have perfect IVs in R/S due to the roaming glitch, it is almost impossible in Emerald because the RNG always starts on seed 0 and you have to leave your GBA on for weeks to hit the correct frame.

All depends on who you ask. I don't personally consider cloned pokemon legit. They weren't found from an ingame encounter but were created from a trick that Nintendo never intended to exist. That sentiment to me makes them as valuable to me as a pokemon generated from an action replay. Or Rng.

a) Latias cannot have good stats in gen3
b) Anything catchable in game without an event, no matter how old the game or difficult to find can be considered especially rare because someone could easily go back and farm legit ones if they wanted/needed to.
