The other day I started breeding gastlys with an imperfect 5 iv japanese mother I got over wondetrade. In the 3rd batch of eggs, before I could find a penta father to hand my destiny knot to, I got a x/31/31/x/31/31 shiny. It's got speed IVs at least so I'm still gonna use it.

Does anybody else see a sentimental difference in the collectible value of a shiny based on how much harder it is to get one?

For example do you see shinies obtained via the original 1/8191 rate as more valuable and impressive as the exact same pokemon obtained shiny via a method that made it easier to find?

I wouldn't mind for example having a Red Gyarados to show off if the trainer ID said it was not caught from the lake of rage. Those kind of details make a world of difference to me.

I accidentally MM'd a Klefki while I was just breeding for IVs. He was missing speed but because of Prankster it doesn't really matter, he's been loads of use to me.

My first genuine project was a shiny Charmander. When I finally got one, it only had 6 in HP. Boxed it.

Then I tried breeding for a Ralts, got nowhere fast. Still haven't got it. Same with a Bulbasaur.

And yet while breeding penta Larvitars and Marrils with egg-moves for the Giveaway thread I somehow ended up with a 4IV Larvitar early (missing HP and Speed but in the 20s for both) and a penta Huge Power Marril. If only I liked T-tar and Azumarril's shinies more...
