Nothing official yet, and no scans have appeared, but some information said to be from CoroCoro is beginning to leak over on the Japanese boards.

- Brendan and May are still the protagonists with new designs, including a Mega Ring on their arms. No sign of any customization like skin or hair color.

- Little Root Town has been expanded, now overlooking the ocean. Rustboro is also shown, much much bigger, with a cable car running through the streets. Hints at Hoenn receiving major changes that will surprise players.

- Mega Sceptile, Grass/Dragon. More bladed leaves and red lines on its body, looks a bit like Rayquaza. Has Chlorophyll. Mega Swampert, still Water/Ground. Orange pads on body turn into fins, and tail splits into two. Has Swift Swim.

- Players receive a surf board, allowing them to quickly move across the waves and perform tricks.

- Surfing Pikachu also returns and is to be given via WiFi at release.

- New artwork of Professor Birch and Wally shown. Wally noticeably has a Mega Ring as well.
