>>19519326I've skimmed the thread. And I don't even need to read it. There's absolutely no reason for IVs in the game.
>but they make pokemon uniquegenders, abilities, moves, EVs, natures, and the 700+ fucking species already do this; arbitrary stat differences don't make it anymore enjoyable
>but hidden powerthey can easily make changeable next gen if they wanted to. And why the fuck would I want to keep a mechanic this unintuitive for deciding IVs? Trial and error breeding is absolutely terrible and not fun at all.
>but foul playnegligible; not any worse or better than other move changes they make each gen
>but gyro ballthey can buff or nerf it accordingly. Also see above.
>but breedingyou would still have to breed for egg moves and easy nature control.
>but trick roomit's already shit. And negative speed natures make this mostly a non issue.
>>19519452Haha, no. If anything, IVs are probably one of the last things that separate good trainers from the shit ones. Team building, movesets, and EVs all require more skill on the player's part than IVs, which are almost all decided by setting them to 0,1,30, or 31. The only difference is how much time they wasted breeding.
