Honestly, just look at Tyranitar. It gets absolutely shit on by Fighting types but even it's still OU.

Yeah, Grass Rock would have been nicer and made just as much sense thematically (dinosaur=rock type in Pokémon). But it's something, I'm not complaining.

Typing isn't really that important in this case, since M-Sceptile probably won't be taking hits too well regardless of its types. We also don't know its stats or if it's getting any new moves.

I'm betting on a massive Att boost, meaning Lightninrod does nothing but grant it an immunity and prevention of Speed Loss. Or a mixed set might be viable. Anyway I'm hoping for fast, unparalyzable physical sweeper with Swords Dance, Leaf Blade, Dragon Claw, and EQ.

Stop thinking of Lightningrod as a way to boost its SpA, it just gives it an immunity to Electric attacks and, more importantly, paralysis immunity. It has the physical movepool to sweep pretty well after a SD boost with all those immunities.

Think of it like Pyroar, a SpAttacker, getting Moxie, except actually very useful fir M-Sxeptile's role.

I doubt they're going to weigh him one way or another. Given that Sceptile could go both physical or special depending on the player preference they'll probably continue that and give him mixed sweeper stats.

If you're going to use him as a counter to Smogonwash though, physical is probably a bad idea because you'll probably just get wisped on the switch in.

Yeah if they give it Physical potential I don't care about handling Rotom, it's not that good. I'm using it as a late game sweeper a la the inverse of Zard X who opts for +2 Att with SD instead of worrying about it's inevitably god-tier speed.

Keep hoping they are gonna give it a mixed spread with special still being the higher stat. Look on the bright side though if they even added 30 to his speed and special attack he will be the best special attack dragon to date.

Megasaur is a wall so weaknesses are a huge deal. They're not nearly as big a deal for sweepers.

Of course, the problem is that Grass is a really bad offensive type and dragon doesn't really cover for that.
