That's Zygarde's schtick, plus what happens in the anime almost never affects the game.
Also it's a terrible Ability, and Zygarde itself will lose it for something better in the obligatory Z/X2/Y2 version.

Exactly. Zygarde has it now for the sake of completion and nothing more. He will be absent in a movie about a conflict between Yveltal and Xerneas, because despite the similarities in design and naming, he has little to do with them. Same applies for Diancie as of now, so to make her relevant to their conflict she will get an Ability that stops them.

Zygarde will be central in conflict against Volcanion, industrialism vs. ecology.

It just makes too much sense, since it appears to be the Ray of the trio, yet its dragon stab does nothing to Xerneas and its ground stab nothing to Yveltal
