Her clothes were purposedly chosen to clash as much as possible, between themselves and with the remaining parts of her old look.
That ribbon, that top and those shorts (white) don't go together at all and much less with the sneakers and bike shorts that remain.

As for Brendan I'd prefer him wearing a bit baggier clothes but it's still fine.

I'm pretty sure Ohmura does the designs, but the designs are ultimately drawn by Sugimori in his style. Similar thing with Pokemon--most Pokemon are designed by other people, and when the design is finalized Sugimori redraws them to give Pokemon a more unified look.

Doubtful. When I said Ohmura does the designs, I mean he's been the main character designer from BW2 onward. He could've redesigned Sabrina, but if had any input, at that time it probably would've been a joint effort.

Sugimori also does still have a say in things. He's not just an art drone. I think Ohmura just does the brunt of it. Sometimes one designer will start something and another will finish it. This sort of thing isn't uncommon for character designs. Off the top of my head, both Toshimichi Mori and Yuuki Katou design characters in BlazBlue, and some efforts are collaborated but others are mostly done by one designer or another.

The design probably isn't as bad as folks are making it out to be, but god is that art awful. He looks constipated, and his hat/hair looks pretty fake (it was indistinguishable from real hair in both R/S and E). From what I can see of the 3D models, the actually design is pretty passable.

Not counting the hat one, Kalos had 5 boutiques for 15 cities (not counting the post-game and uniting both towns around route 1 as one), even though four of them could only really be accesed by/after getting the fourth badge.
Hoenn would have 4 boutiques for... well, 15 as well. But they'd be more spread out (and have better early access).

How about this:
Assuming they bring back the emerald battle frontier and that fucker who I completely forget the name of, some of the marts are replaced with boutiques, and others are replaced with battle tents, and what's left over is replaced with some other gimmicky thing, possibly move tutors?

And that doesn't tackle the main issue: how do we get rid of contest halls? Contests were a nice feature (almost) exclusive of Hoenn, so it must go.

Got a point. That is a tough decision, although they still would need to figure out what to do with the marts, meaning, unless they remodel the entirety of the towns, they've gotta be pulling a whole lot of stuff out their asses.
Maybe Mega Stone shops, or, god help us, pokemon accessory stores?

Seems like the kind of unneeded step back they'd take.
I can guarantee, however, that at least one of them will become a furfrou stylist, and another one (probably in the city with the mall, I forget the name) will have the hair stylist if character customization is back again

It's also a minor stepback, specially considering that most pokemarts were within sight from the pokémon center.
Also, they cna't put the hair stylist that far into the game (between the sixth and seventh badges), it kinda kills customization.
