Why don't they just take all the game regions, with all the gym leaders and elite fours...and just kind of duct tape them together to create one super-land where you can travel from region to region via long ass walks, cruises or monorails?

GF wants to print money, it's more economically viable to make several remakes throughout the years than one big remake that is shit.

It would be shit.

Look at what happened when they incorporated Kanto into HGSS. The same team that created the best fucking control scheme for a Pokemon game couldn't even slap together the two earliest regions successfully.

How would it work? You would hit lv100 after 3 regions, do you really want gym leaders with lv100 pokémon in some regions while in the first ones they have lv10 mons?

It's possible, but as a console game.
I had an idea for this concept: When you have a badge that allows you to use a Pokemon up to a certain level, it could only apply in the region where you got it. It would also encourage starting from scratch, although once you get the necessary badges you can use again the Pokemon you've already trained. For example, if you started in Kanto, became champion of Kanto and moved to Unova, when you start your Unova journey, you can't immediately use your Kanto Pokemon until you earn badges.

Yeah, they'd have to create larger movesets to accommodate the higher levels.
Which is why they would do it, because it would be a significant reworking of the game and require them to actually think for thier money.
