Also I doubt this is true due to the fact that Exeggutor and Gallade are on that list (they already evolve from stones and no other official mega-evolution has that attribute)

That was a hoax list that was published in the peak of pre-XY hype and was proven to be bollocks as soon as the info on the Pokemon trademark update has been leaked.

Also:

The purpose of Sycamore's say-so about Mega stone being a transformed evo stones and using same energies was most likely to tie the new items into preexistent canon using elements that were already present. At no point it was said that "evolved via stone = exempt from Mega evolving".

People used the fact that Gen-5 gave no remakes to argue that GF no longer gives a shit about redoing old regions - and look what happened.

This explaination just keeps coming around because people are quick to take even the flimsiest status quo as an adamant framework for the future.

The 'Gallade was made because male Gardevoir a shit' explaination also was a knee-jerk reaction and look how it keeps going strong for 8 whole years despite there being no substantial evidence to back it up.
