The artist or writer didn't know shit about how to capture the idea of an otherworldly extra dimensional god of sorts, so instead it's a muscle elephant. It should be beyond comprehension, is it really that hard to draw something that can't be grasp by the human mind lest insanity fall upon those that can even come close to comprehending it?

I think there's a better comic involving Aquaman and a space god at the bottom of the Ocean, where he tells Superman "Whoa, we stay away from that shit" while Superman doesn't listen and gets his ass knocked, and Aquaman is like "See". Cthulu isn't an aquatic beast in the first place, he's just someone bumming on Aquaman's couch, of course he can't tell him to do shit.
