It wasnt even masuda'd, I was using my own Medicham to get recover on it for its final egg move. I'm really glad I stuck a destiny knot on it otherwise this would have been overwhelmingly disappointing.

It has prankster so thats a plus but its hp is somewhere in the 8-13 IV range so Im debating whether to get back on this ride. Only took 2 hours for this little guy to show up but I'm probably not gonna get another Prankster ever again.

if you've beaten the game, a guy in Kiloude city will tell you the stats of a mon. If he says "it can't be better" then it has 31 (or perfect) ivs in that stat. So then you get destiny knot and put it on one parent, then you get another parent with the right egg moves and nature that has decent ivs (generally two or three) and you breed them.

Then you check the babies and flip the mother out for a 4 or 5 iv until you have what you want. Generally a 5 iv or 6 iv father is preferable. If you are MMing, then you should ask around for a 6iv foreign ditto.

I've only ever tried it to get a Ponyta in Diamond and a and I tried a Croagunk in Y recently.

I know you use a Max Repel and then you go into patches that shake the same way but I always fuck it up and go into a patch that looks the same but is slightly different.

There are certain strategies to do it.
One of the main things I pay attention to (that the faq OP posted doesn't say) is that you should only target strong shaking patches that are over four tiles or more away from you, isn't touching any other shaking patches, and isn't on the edge of the field.
The only problem with this is that you can only use that particular method if you are in a really big field (example: Pokemon Village), therefore I can't do it well in smaller fields.

Here's my moondog, hatched after only 7 boxes a few weekends ago. I've only used him once in a multibattle so far, didn't fare well, but that was just once. Flare Blitz was probably a bad idea for a defensive set, but I wanted ES on there and didn't want to go mixed. But, either way, I like him a lot.

Hey Shiny Hunt General, I've been trying to hatch some shinies using the Masuda Method in X but it seems I've run out of luck. I've hatched 21 boxes of 5IV-6IV solosis and never got a shiny (even with a shiny charm) so I've moved on to Helioptile. I've only hatched one box but before I go any reason to why I've been finding shiny wingulls while EV training but none while using MM? Is it bad luck or can I just not git gud?
