Breed them like we'd usually do, although many people have Japanese Ditto's.

You can also "flip" parents with someone in the thread with a game from a different region, if you arent using a Ditto.

well the one I got hatched too soon, only 4 iv, so originally I continued MMing for a better shiny, only to decide that I wanted a shiny growlithe for my ORAS playthrough, so here i am. A ridiculous age later, still hatching them. As long as you don't mind me using that male i borrowed.

My last MMing attempt for my Noibat @ 1,063 eggs and roughly a month in length. Shortest was a hunt of five minutes in which I scored an Eevee. Total accident, had no Synchronizer, ended up with a Serious one.

Masuda's Wild Ride, guaranteed Nature, safe bet for IV's and essentially a guaranteed shiny if you've got the patience.

Cradily if I'm honest. It's the first shiny I ever obtained waaaaaay back in Ruby, plus I find the fossils that it's based on all around my house.

Usually old episodes of Coast to Coast AM from Art Bell's golden era. Sometimes just music or something on the History Channel.

Pictured is a cattle watering hole, otherwise called a cattle tank, roughly 2 miles from my house. Used by local ranchers to water their cattle, they essentially become small ponds during the rainy season and become massive spawning pools for local toads. You can hear the buggers croaking and calling for mates loud as can be at night. Turns the high desert into a swamp for a couple weeks each year, it's really neat in my opinion.

MMing a Growlithe in Black took months. It finally hatched on Christmas night though, which I thought was pretty neat. Shortest was MMing a Teddiursa in X.

Last month, I hoarded for about 20 minutes and found a Murkrow. That's the only successful hunt I've had.

I have 5 shinies. Got 1 through Wonder Trade, Murkrow mentioned earlier, and the others were random encounters.

Random encounters because those seem to be easiest for me. Even chain fishing is useless.

What's the best way to get a somewhat competitively viable shiny? I'm talking, at the least, 3-4 31's. I like getting safari shinies, but it's almost always just the 2, and they're rarely in anything resembling a good stat for it.

BUT, Blastoise gained Dragon Pulse as an egg move which had plenty of parents that could have passed it down before Clawitzer showed up. He got it cause of his mega.

Yes it wil. If you're breeding the Axew in a non-standard PokéBall then be sure to have a 31/31/31/x/31/31 female with Iron Tail then breed it with the Ditto, so it retains the PokéBall.

I hope you're breeding in Luxury Balls! The red and black matches nicely with shiny Haxorus.

The problem with the Emerald RNG is that it always starts counting from a fixed value. Since you always initiate the battle within 1-2 seconds of starting the game, the PID/IVs/nature/shininess will always be within a small range. If there is no shiny frame within those first seconds, you'll never find your shiny.

Successfully SRing a shiny in Emerald basically requires you to be insanely lucky enough to have an early shiny frame like >>19632896. Also a fun side effect of this is that had you accidentally killed it, you could have contined SRing and gotten that same shiny in a relatively short amount of time. It requires precision down to the millisecond but from personal experience the same PIDs tend to repeat with relative frequency, so it's only a matter of time before the shiny pops up again.

If you don't have an early shiny frame, you'd have to initiate the encounter on the frame that does have a shiny, which of course doesn't usually happen when SRing. I SR'd for almost a week for pic related (I didn't know about the broken RNG at the time) and only got this because I was distracted at the time and pressed A a few minutes after starting the game. Yes, I used a warp code to get to the island, don't judge me. :^)

It works pretty much like you say. RNG is broken to the point where SRing is basically not viable, though not impossible.
I did my fair amount of research when I got into the hunting scene, and unless you're nastily lucky to have an early shiny frame, then you're getting squat.

It's simple. Basically, when you start the game up, a random number is generated, called a seed. This seed is generated based on the previous one, so it outputs one number at random each reset. In Emerald though, this doesn't happen and the seed is always 0. So the shiny frames will always be the same, and at the same time.

No. Shiny frames are determined by the seed. Let's say you're playing Emerald and you just happen to run into a shone by chance. Let's say it appeared in the 2389th frame since the game started, and that frame comes around 1min, 2secs and 31 hundredths of a sec. If you were to run into anything at exactly that moment in time, it will always be shiny. Same nature and I think IVs, but I'm not sure about IVs. All the time. So if your TID and STID make it so your earliest shiny frame comes several minutes later after starting the game, then SRing won't be viable unless you have way too much free time.

Been working on making a perfect IV Shiny Charmander for a while, but I just found out I've been using the wrong pokemon.

Charmander (Female) has perfect Sp. Attack, but no other stats say so. Japanese Ditto doesn't even have a perfect stat.

I had a four-way flawless jolly shiny frame seven minutes in on my Emerald and I damn well got my Rayquaza on that back when third gen RNGing was a thing, but it was a hell of a slog. Don't bother, you can RNG everything 1000x easier in fourth gen, including the third gen legends if you've got a legit Arceus to do the HGSS event thing.

Well, I'd not use anything like Y-zard without perfect Speed, but most consider 20-25 to be the cutoff line, so anything under that would be considered 2slow. I mean a 12 Speed IV is like an 11 point difference at level 50, so you're gonna get outsped by a few things that retained a 31 IV, but it's up to you whether you return to the Charmander ride.

I'd get Armaldo done first, try Y-zard out in battles to see how it fares, then decide where to pick up from there.
