Drop Bug/Flying, make it Bug/Poison. If you don't care about thematics that much, make it Bug/Fairy (it sort of fits, maybe, kind of.)

Increase all of its stats, except for Def/SDef. HP should ideally be about 90. Attack should be 110ish. Speed should be 90.

Buff Attack Order. Make it 100 BP, and have it cause Toxic poison at a high rate (30%.) Or, have Defend Order be Light Screen+Reflect at the same time (will persist if Vespiquen switches out, but duration can't be increased with Light Clay.)

Hidden Ability is changed from Unnerve to uhhh something better.

It's one of the mons I really wish wasn't a shitmon. They gave it a cool design and three signature moves, but it's so awful.

I wish it were fixed ion some way.

But chainging its typing is the biggest thing they can do to help it.
A common typing combo (for bugs) that's weak to many offensive types isn't helping it any.
Giving the Order moves some kind of additional effect would be nice, especially with Heal Order being outclassed completely by Roost.

For Combee in general, giving a male evolution would be pretty cool too.

I just wish Combee was more useful, and those shiny males had some purpose in life besides being jokes.

Yes, but everyone knows how to deal with bug/steel.
Bug/Dark has new opportunities, as with basically any other type combo that hasn't been done with bug yet.

I don't feel bug/steel will help it, though.
The bug/fairy combo suggested earlier sounds interesting.
Only weak to 4 types, Steel, Poison, Fire, and Flying.
Even since the addition of fairies, steel and poison haven't had much more usage.

Bug/psychic is one of the few typings I'd accept thematically.

The issue besides an atrocious bug/flying typing is: average bst, poorly distributed stats, a poor offensive movepool to even justify mixed attacking stats, two subpar abilities, and three whole signature moves that are just clones of another move or in the case of attack order a retyped leaf blade to one of the worst offensive types in the game.

My fix for vespiquen is bump its bst to 500, cut its attack in half, and pour those extra stats into defenses. Give it compound eyes in addition to pressure and battle armor as its hidden ability. Make attack order special and have the psyshock effect, instead of increased crit chance it gains 10 bp for each bug type on your team (including Vespiquen), defend order boosts turn into stackable screens that only affect bug types and last for 5 turns once vespiquen switches out, heal order cures non-volatile status of all bug types on your team.

Now Vespiquen is truly the queen of bug types.
