It wouldn't affect Groudon, and he'd get SE STAB right back. This is obvious, and of course, it won't be done.

Like damn, Kyogre along would be broken with that typing, you'd think they would do it to buff the great Water legendary.

Ground/Fire Groudon is still 4x weak to Kyogre's STAB. Giving it electric isn't going to nerf it or even out that fight.

Those are all very versatile yet different Pokemon that competitively speaking perform very well. Unless you are speaking about being HO I'd say yiu are right about Ho-Oh buy again Sinnoh dinosaurs are both on the same level.
