Several less than popular pokes were Mega Evolution recipients to begin with.

I don't think Manectric had all that many fans for example, and wasn't really seen all that much since its first appearance. It appeared mid-game in its original game, was absent until the postgame in 4th gen and only showed up in hidden grottoes in 5th gen

Chimecho is Third Gen, but I don't recall EVER seeing an actual Chimecho ingame.
I don't even know how his RSE sprite looks like.
Not a single trainer ever uses one, and I don't think you can find it in the wild. So what's the deal here?
